Online Mechanical Engineering Classes
Studies typically focus on researching, designing, building and testing mechanical devices. Students will learn to create blueprints of mechanical devices, develop and test prototypes of proposed devices, analyze test results and make design changes when needed. In these classes, students will learn the limitations and potential of complex processes. They will use problem solving skills to improve a system's operation, such as better fuel efficiency in an automobile engine, greater tactile sensitivity of a biomedical device or increased production of a manufacturing machine.
Judgment and Decision Making
Students will develop the ability to judge the validity of engineering theories and decide whether to pursue them by solving problems through mechanical means, but only when the concepts are deemed valid through accurate testing and analysis.
Planning and Organization
Certain mechanical engineering courses will teach students good organizational skills. Students will plan and develop engineering concepts using detailed information that is easy to understand, so others can manufacture devices to meet specifications.
